A Japanese farmer has reaped many rewards after researching round oranges to develop pentagon-shaped fruits.
Strange, one-of-a-kind pentagon-shaped oranges
Farmer Keisuke Ninomiya has created a citrus fruit with a unique pentagonal shape. The citrus tree that produces pentagon-shaped fruit called “iyokan” or “Gokaku no Iyokan” is sold very well in Japan because it is considered a lucky charm in exams.
The name “Gokaku no Iyokan” also means “the sweetness of success in exams”.
